Yes, the victim's name is indeed Pete and he has been in many Disney shorts as a bad guy. It is indeed referencing to a very early cartoon called Skeleton Dance that was a Silly Symphonies! Now, for the new car and the year's supply of Rice-A-Roni, the San Francisco treat, will you risk it all and try for the names of the three hitchhiking ghosts or will you go home with what you have already won and the consolation prize of a Comfort Wipe?
I didn't understand a word of that video but I liked it, the marionette skeleton was cool but the severed hands were a bit creepy!
The 3 hitchhiking ghosts name's are Phineas (the cloaked one with the satchel), Ezra (the tall thin one tipping his hat) and Gus (the short one with the ball and chain).
When we go to Disney (which is ALL the time), we wait with anticipation for the hitchhiking ghosts at the end of the ride and try to get the old, tall skinny one. I like to kiss him on his cheek when we get in front of the mirrors. Oh...and we knock on the back of everyone's doom buggies whether we know them or not. Obviously, we have been on the ride FAR too many times...ha!

With out using the Google machine, the victim's name is Pete.
For the double bonus is it a reference to Silly Simphonies skeleton dance???

Somehow that bit at :52 reminded me of this more than anything:

...but then that's probably a reference to the Silly Symphonies cartoon!

I didn't realize I knew there names until I saw your response. :)
I soooo love the haunted mansion. If I ever win the lottery, I'm moving to Florida and working there part time.
I either wanted to be a monorail driver or work at the Haunted Mansion at Disney as a kid.
